Explore America
For more than 10 years SHS has been “Exploring America” and gaining great knowledge of our country's history. Students travel to the Eastern Seaboard for nine days visiting places such as the oldest public park in Boston, and the Salem Witch Museum in Salem, MA. Students also journey to Lexington, where the first shots of the American Revolution rang out on the Battle Green, and visit Plimoth Plantation to experience life as a Pilgrim in 1692. Students also get to go sightseeing in “the Big Apple”-New York City and enjoy a hit Broadway show and romp through New York’s own backyard playground, Central Park. We visit Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, and our nation’s capitol, Washington, D.C. where we observe the quiet dignity of Arlington National Cemetery and explore the many Smithsonian museums. Explore America allows students to experience local cuisine, see iconic landmarks, and learn how our history is still alive.
