ANGELA LAMB

Board Chair - Term 2022-2025

I have lived in Shelby for 20 years. My husband, Cory, and I have 3 children who have or currently are attending Shelby Public Schools. I graduated from Conrad High School and have always loved the Golden Triangle. I have served on multiple boards in and out of the community. I feel that being involved is the best way for me to help ensure our community continues to be the wonderful place that I have known my whole life. I have served on the Shelby School Board since 2019 and I am currently the acting Board Chairman. I am passionate about our community and making our schools the best that they can be.

CHAD SCARBOROUGH

My name is Dr. Chad Scarborough and I am the Vice Chairman of the School Board. I serve as the Pastor of a local church here in Shelby and my family and I have lived here for 11 years. My wife, Shannon, works in the elementary school and our children attend Shelby High School. We enjoy spending time outdoors with our cows and horses and participate in activities such as high school rodeo and 4H. I’ve served on numerous boards and committees throughout Shelby and actively seek ways to help make Shelby even better. I’ve been a member of the School Board since 2020 and look forward to another great year for Shelby Public Schools.

BRIAN AKLESTAD

High School Board Member - Term 2024-2025

My wife Jodi and I moved back to the farm at Galata in 1995.  All 3 of our daughters attended Galata Elementary School and graduated from Shelby High School.  Community involvement is important to me so I also find myself on a local memorial fund and the state pulse crop committee.  I served two terms on Galata Elementary Board before I joined the Shelby Board as a high school trustee in 2009.

SARA BENJAMIN

High School Board Member - Term 2024-2027

I have lived in Shelby for the past 9 years. My husband, Glen, and I moved back to Shelby with our two children, after living in the Gallatin Valley for 18 years. My husband's love for farming and family brought us back to the area to take over the family farm. In 2004 I graduated with a degree in elementary education and later pursued a degree in accounting. I love education and because of that, felt a pull to be a part of the Shelby Public School Board. I feel I can use my experiences and education on the board to make the best decisions for the kids in Toole County. I have appreciated the support of the community while raising my children and I feel by serving on the board, I am able to give back to the community I love.

Jay

JAY HOULD

Board Member - Term 2024-2027

Hello - I am Jay Hould. I grew up attending Conrad Public Schools and graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After passing the Certified Public Accounting Exam, I returned to the Hi-Line with my wife, Diane, to purchase Big Sky Wholesale Seeds, Inc., which I have operated for the past thirty-eight years. During this career, I have served on the board of directors of the Montana Seed Trade Association, been a member of the Western Seedsmen Association, the Canadian Seed Trade Association, the American Seed Trade Association, and served as the secretary of the Montech Seed Group for twenty-two years. In our community, I have served on the board of directors of the Montana Veteran’s Memorial Flag, LLC for the past decade, and served on the finance committees of St. Luke’s and First Presbyterian Churches.

Both my parents were school teachers and in school administration for twenty-plus years, so education has always been a cornerstone of our family. In 2024 our daughter, Rachel, became the fourth generation in our family to receive a college degree. My education has afforded me many opportunities, and I want to ensure that the students of Shelby Public Schools are given these same opportunities in their lives. As a community, one of the most important obligations we have is the education of our children.

When not at work at Big Sky Wholesale Seeds or in our community, you will find me out hunting or fishing in our great Montana outdoors.

ERIC TOKERUD

Board Member - Term 2023-2026

I am very proud to be a member of the Shelby School  Board. I have lived in Shelby for over 35 years and have raised all five of our children in this school system.  I am married to my wife, Lauri.   We were both teachers in the school system for many years.  I now have grandchildren that are enrolled in the school system.  I ran for School Board because I feel it is important to have former employees of the district on the Board and I also see the importance of volunteering in the community.
