Sixth graders braved the spring weather and went to the Oilmont area to learn the process of capping old oil wells. On their field trip they learned about the math (measurement tools), science (poisonous gases and engineering processes), and environmental problem solving associated with the process!

The Shelby Track and Field Coaching Staff would like to thank the teams that came to compete this weekend in Shelby for our first annual Shelby Invite. We would like to give a big thank you to Cut Bank for all of their help with the timing system and for being patient with us as we learned. Lastly, a huge thank you to all of the community members and parents who volunteered. We would not have been able to run this meet without your help and support.  And as always, Go Yotes!

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Hayes's and Mrs. Monroe's classes read about worms and studied them using magnifying glasses. They then celebrate by eating 'dirt cups' with pudding, Oreos, and gummy worms!

3rd Grade - Mrs. McDonough's and Mrs. Goodan's To celebrate Earth Day, Mrs. White's 6th grade geography classes came into the 1st-3rd grades to read "The Story of an Orphan Well - Willow's Second Chance" which is a picture book donated to our school by our local Well Done Foundation Business (on Main Street). The Well Done Foundation works hard to keep nature and people healthy by capping old oil wells locally and around the USA. Hopefully students will join Willow and be a Well Done Foundation Junior "Carbon Wildcat."
