2nd Grade - Mrs. Barnhill's To celebrate Earth Day, Mrs. White's 6th grade geography classes came into the 1st-3rd grades to read "The Story of an Orphan Well - Willow's Second Chance" which is a picture book donated to our school by our local Well Done Foundation Business (on Main Street). The Well Done Foundation works hard to keep nature and people healthy by capping old oil wells locally and around the USA. Hopefully students will join Willow and be a Well Done Foundation Junior "Carbon Wildcat."

Shelby Student Play Dinner Theater Great Event Coytoes!

Great job to all the students who showed PAWS this week!

The Shelby Howl reporters got to watch KPAX reporters and producers creating their evening broadcasts and filming the weather on the green screen. KPAX spent a lot of time talking to the students about the equipment, process, job training, and how the 6 channels are financed through marketing and advertisement. We were also able to hear about how journalism and broadcasting have changed in the last 30 years! Thank you to Jim Sanders at Missoula KPAX for an awesome tour!

Shelby School District recently received six old photographs from Shelby's past. We would like to identify years (or estimated years) and any of the people in the photographs. You are welcome to comment on the photos if you recognize a relative or individual from the photographs. Any help would be appreciated. Go Coyotes!

Reminder: The registration deadline for the Shelby 3-on-3 Tournament is Friday, April 19, 2024.

The Shelby High School Band & Choir will be performing tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium for the Pre-Festival District Music Concert. Go Coyotes!

These student showed PAWS this week. Great work!

Mrs. Fix and Mrs. Hoover partnered up with our librarian Mrs. Reynolds to have the students find their favorite book for March Book Madness. They were exposed to different styles of writing, genres, purposes and authors. After the tournament of books, the students wrote a letter to the author letting him/her know why they loved their book the most. The students and teachers loved it so much that they plan to make this an annual event!

Mrs. White's 6th Grade Geography classes have been studying Asia. Since one of her students studies Shotokan, a style of karate developed from various martial arts from Okinawa, Japan, they had a kinesthetic introductory lesson with Bridger leading the session outside. After Bridger's slide show and lesson, students were able to get a snapshot of a well known martial art recognized in Japan.

Students Celebrating Ms. Stirling's Birthday!

The month of March was spent doing "Book Madness" in Mrs. Fix's class. They started with 16 books. The winning book was After the Fall, How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again.
